Day - Day Itinerary

DAY 1: JRO – INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL - ARUSHA

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and assisted by Hello Africa Safaris representative. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha arriving in time for check in. Rest of the day at leisure. All meals are excluded.

After breakfast you will be picked up from hotel and depart to Arusha National Park for game drive with picnic lunches, where your safari starts. This charming park has a rich diversity of landscapes and wildlife. From lakes, waterfalls and swamps to volcanos, mountains and tropical rainforest. They attract many beautiful birds including silvery-cheeked hornbill and thousands of pink-hued flamingos. This park is also the only place in northern Tanzania where you can easily spot the black-and-white colobus monkey. One of the popular safari activities in this national park is a canoe or walking safari with an armed ranger. A great change to enjoy wildlife up close, from a different perspective than sitting in a safari vehicle Evening drive back to Arusha Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested. After Breakfast you will be picked up from hotel and depart to Tarangire National Park for game drive with picnic lunches. Tarangire is famous for big groups of Elephants and astonishing landscapes where guests will have an opportunity to experience the few remaining ancient large Baobab trees. After Breakfast you will be picked up from hotel and depart to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive with picnic lunches. Lake Manyara National Park provide unique wilderness experience Including diverse landscapes such as rifts valley soda lake, open grasslands, dense woodlands and stunning mountain insides, Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested. After breakfast, you will be picked up with our driver guide with picnic lunches and proceed to Serengeti National Park for game drive, on the way you will have a chance to visit Maasai Village and experience many traditional aspects of Maasai life, but also see how the Maasai adapt to development and contact with modern civilization. All visits are planned and arranged by Maasai themselves, they will show you their tradition Maasai dance ad singing, different type of Maasai houses, tradition beard ornaments, the O’Brien School for the Maasai and you can also walk with their little o the plains. Afternoon depart with en-route game drive to Serengeti National Park. The endless plains of the Serengeti lie 330km of Its 15,000 sq kms support the annual migration of over 3 million wildebeest, zebra and other plains game as they follow the rains in their continuous search for grass and water. They are closely followed in turn by Africa’s largest concentration of lion and a host of other predators.

After breakfast, you will be picked up with our driver guide with lunch box and proceed to Ngorongoro crater for game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, Afternoon depart with en-route game drive. DAY 1: JRO – INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL - ARUSHA

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and assisted by Africa Marula Holiday & Safaris representative. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha arriving in time for check in. Rest of the day at leisure. All meals are excluded.

Between day two today seven(inclusive) you will climb and descend the majestic Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro climb will be on either Machame Route, Marangu Route or Lemosho Route; you will do whichever of the three routes you select. Please follow the links in the tour details section above to see the detailed day by day climbing itinerary for each of these routes.
On the final day of descent from the mountain (the seventh day), you will be met by our drive at the mountain gate from where he will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for a much need warm shower and relaxation. The day will be spent relaxing and unwinding in preparation for the next day when you will fly to Zanzibar for a beach holiday. 

After breakfast, you will continue towards the fertile highlands where wheat, coffee and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a crater of unimaginable beauty created some three million years ago with the explosion of a volcano, you will be able to see the breathtaking expanse of the Ngorongoro Caldera. Proceed travelling onwards to the Serengeti National Park or Serenget, ‘Endless Plain’ in Maa, the tongue of the Maasai. You will reach by midday. The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains. Here the biggest wildebeest and zebra migration takes place and depending on the season, you may have the opportunity to witness thousands of animals on their search for food and water.

After an extensive game drive, you will drive to your campsite where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

The entire day is set aside for more game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is the habitat for an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos. However, it is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, you might have the chance to see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions, always lurking close by.

After an unforgettable day, you will return to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will head out for another game drive in the Serengeti. You might be able to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – before embarking on your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater. The animals roam freely through the unfenced reserves offering you an uninterrupted game viewing experience. Arriving at the edge of the crater, you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day – glistening streams, open grassland and an infinite amount of animals. You will spend the night at a campsite directly on the crater’s edge with the orange glow of sunset surrounding you as you drift off to sleep.

Early risers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the rising sun over the crater’s edge and, after a hearty breakfast, you will drive down the adventurous track into the crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the seven wonders of Africa and the most incredible ecosystems on earth, formed millions of years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano. It is 610m deep and covers roughly 260 sq km. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In a matter of minutes, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.

After lunch, you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive to your final destination on this epic safari, Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its various landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.

After extensive game drives through the park, you will head back to Arusha. You will arrive early in the evening, overflowing with images of the African wilds.

Day - Day Itinerary

ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha town, you will meet our guide who will brief you on your upcoming trip.

We depart Moshi in the morning, and head for Tarangire National Park, where you will begin your first game drive before midday. Lunch will be served under the mighty Boabob trees after you enter the park and catch your first glimpses of the wildlife and spectacular scenery. After lunch, make your way through the park snapping photos of the zebra, giraffe and elephant that call this area their home. After a full afternoon of game drives, head to your campsite for dinner and a night under the stars.
Camping at Fanaka or Haven Nature Camp

There was a reason that “Hello Africa Safaris” creators drew their inspiration from the Serengeti, and today you will get to discover why. Renowned for its’ large lion population, this may be the best opportunity to get a great view of a Lion Pride in their natural habitat, as the gazelles, zebras, and buffalo are abundant in this region. Come during the right season, and witness the birth of the wildebeest calves, where they will begin their annual migration to Kenya at the end of May. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of games drives your campsite awaits.
Pimbi Camp Serengeti

After a hearty breakfast and morning game drive in the Serengeti, we make our way to the infamous Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera. An abundance of wildlife graces this infamous area, known worldwide for its’ stunning landscape. Enjoy spotting a multitude of different species, from elephants, hippos and giraffes to the majestic Crater Lions and ravenous hyenas. After a short glimpse of the crater, we wind our way upwards as we head to our campsite on top of the crater rim. Simba Camp Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we descend back into the crater for an early morning game drive, hoping the cool morning air allows for us to see some active wildlife. As the temperatures rise, we may head to the hippo pool to see these spectacular creatures enjoying a dip to beat the heat. As lunch approaches, we make our way to the picnic site on the lake, taking in the spectacular views and a bite to eat before you head out on the final game drive. After our last glimpse of the park, we head towards the crater rim to make the journey back to Moshi for the evening.

Day - Day Itinerary

ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha town, you will meet our guide who will brief you on your upcoming trip.

In the morning pick up from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for game drives. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa from June to October. The fierce sun sucks the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red and the withered grass as brittle as straw. This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu and the Fringed-eared Oryx. After a picnic lunch we do an afternoon game drive for more animal-spotting and wildlife experiences, after which you will be driven to Kudu Campsite in Karatu for overnight and dinner.

In the early morning, we will continue our journey to Lake Manyara National Park. The park encompasses the northwest bank and part of the Lake Manyara which itself rests in the Great Rift Valley. The park is perhaps best known for its flamingos, pelicans and cormorants but it is also the home for hundreds of other bird species; it is therefore a paradise for ornithologists. With a bit of luck you might see elephants and with even more fortune the tree-climbing lions. It was thought for a long time that the Lake Manyara is the only place where lions can be found with this behavior of climbing trees. Baboons and velvet monkeys are found in the forested areas and giraffes nibble at the fresh leaves while the various types of antelopes searching for tasty shoots. After a picnic lunch, there will be more time for further game-drives before it is time to continue towards the Ngorongoro Crater, where you will dinner and overnight close to the rim of the crater at Simba Campsite.

Game drives through the Ngorongoro Crater begin early in the morning in safari vehicles with pop-up roofs – departure from your accommodation will therefore be around 6:00 or 7:00 AM. The descent into the crater is one of scenic beauty, as you make your way through lush forests, home to numerous elephants and buffaloes. As you reach the inside of the crater, your guide will take you through the grassy crater floor, the unbelievable fever tree forest, the banks of Lake Magadi and the surrounding marshes. The crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, is mostly open grassland with two small wooded areas. Lunch is served picnic style, surrounded by the natural wonders around you as well as the exceptional wildlife with which you share this extraordinary paradise. After lunch and a short game-drive, you will be taken back to Arusha where you will be dropped at your accommodation around dinner time.

Day - Day Itinerary

ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha town, you will meet our guide who will brief you on your upcoming trip.

-Non game-viewing travel time: 6 hours -Distance: 250 km
After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa the Serengeti National Park with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park.

Non-game-viewing travel time: 4 hours. Distance: 205 km.
After breakfast, we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa the Serengeti National Park with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attractions wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park. Dinner and overnight at an accommodation booked on the package.

Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement). Floating silently above the awakening bush, while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa, across rivers and over numerous small villages. After hot balloon, we continue with a game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible Lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich, and cheetah sightings. The Visitor Center close to the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive.

This nicely designed center offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The center also has a shop where cold drinks and snakes can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby Kopje. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the center in the shade of the giant acacia trees. In the afternoon we will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract many lions and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink! Dinner and overnight at an accommodation booked on the package.

After breakfast, we continue with the game drive until lunchtime. After lunch, we head to Ngorongoro for overnight. On the way, we can experience the Maasai traditional life and experience a few of these cultural people’s lives in the Ngorongoro conservations. Dinner and overnight accommodation booked on the package.

Non game-viewing travel time: 3 hours -Distance: 155 km
After breakfast we depart for the Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. After a picnic lunch we do an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation booked on trip.

Non game-viewing travel time: 2 hours -Distance: 120 km .
We enjoy an early morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park, followed by breakfast at the lodge. We will then transfer back to Arusha / Moshi.

The day is left free to wind down after the trip before your flight home. Depending on flight times you could go and explore Moshi town and grab some souvenirs before heading to the airport.

Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during the dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals. We eat lunch at the picnic after which we continue with the game until late evening, then drive to the accommodation for overnight. Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.

Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. After lunch, we will start ascending from the crater and return to Moshi.

The day is left free to wind down after the trip before your flight home. Depending on flight times you could go and explore Moshi town and grab some souvenirs before heading to the airport.

Meet our professional tour guide/driver in Arusha/Moshi town, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, after which, we travel to the Lake Manyara National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at the park. After lunch, we head into the Lake Manyara National Park. This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most intensely located wildlife areas, considering a massive but shallow soda lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attractions a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.

After breakfast, we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a morning, half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which includes herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big drawcard to this scenic national park is its dense population of predators, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha town, you will meet our guide who will brief you on your upcoming trip.

After breakfast, you will be met by your private guide to Tarangire National park which is a few hrs from Arusha town-118km. This park has the highest population density of elephants of any park in the northern circuit. It is home to over 550 variants of birds including the heaviest flying bird-Kori bustard.

The Tarangire national park is very famous for its dense wildlife population during the dry season including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and the number of grazers, climbing trees pythons can also be spotted here, and the scattered vegetable covered with baobab and acacia trees makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit. Tour activities in Tarangire including game driving, ballooning, bird watching, and guided walking safaris. After lunch, you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and, Dinner. Accommodation options: Semi-luxury lodges. 

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro crater referred to as “Africa’s Eden, and a must-visit place. The Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world at 2286m above sea level. It is home to up to 30000 animals almost half being wildebeest and zebra. The crater is also one of the few places in East Africa where visitors can be certain of seeing black rhinos. Ngorongoro conservation area was established as a multiple land use area, designed to promote the conservation of natural resources, safeguard the interests of indigenous residents and promote tourism.

This is a unique protected area in the whole of Africa where the conservation of natural resources is integrated with human activities. This UNESCO world heritage site is also a place where you may locate elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, and many more species both grazers and carnivores. After a full day game drive, late evening you will drive back to Arusha town.
